José has worked for over 25 years on regional integration, trade policy and value chains in Latin America. He has actively contributed to building the South American Input-Output Matrix (2016), its multi-regional extension with the European Commission (FIGARO, 2025), ECLAC's input-output analysis manual, and the quantitative evaluation of trade agreements such as Ecuador–China, Ecuador–Pacific Alliance and the Argentina–Brazil productive integration.
